The Tribune project was ordered by the Provincial Government in order to host the majority of the province political and cultural celebrations. It was designed by the important architect Aníbal Barrera.

The  condominiums were built to enhance the housing infraestructure of the city, due to the fact of the Expansion Project of The "Camilo Cienfuegos" Oil Refinery (The biggest company of the city), which increase the  number of workers.

The Pantheon was built in order to bring the remains of the Cienguegos" soldiers who died in The Pig Bay or Playa Giron Battle. They  were inicially buried in Matanzas Province. The Project was commited by the Provincial Governmement.

The project objetive was the refurbishment of some old industrial buildings, in order to create a base to support The Refinery Expansion Project, for instance: there were built Batching Plants, Industrial Carpintery and Steel Workshop.
